But Exercise Makes Me Want to Cry - Chapter 9

"Teach me Your way, O Lord, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.  I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, I will glorify Your name forever"
Psalm 86:11

This verse really spoke to me in our study today.  I want to emphasize "Your" here.
I see that we need to look to Him for our strength.  We must have an undivided heart to serve Him.  James 1:8 tells us that a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
A divided heart/double mind.....they make us unstable.  I need to know His truth so that I will walk in it.

The big orange thing reared itself to me today!  On several occasions I was challenged to put this study to the "test".  I was made even more aware of how often I look first to food before considering prayer or scripture to apply to the situation.   I have to tell you, the victory was sweet!

I was really touched by Lysa's story of the day God told her to run and not stop until he said so. Wow! God asked her to do something really hard and by his power, she did it.

I agree with Lysa that we make time to do the things that are important to us. When I was exercising I did feel better. Earlier this week I was feeling weary, and I could tell that my daughter was tired too. I asked her if she wanted to go for a walk and she enthusiastically said yes. We walked for about 30 minutes and we both felt better afterwards. I wanted to walk more this week, but it's been raining cats and dogs and has been cold. I have decided that I need to start moving on a regular basis, and I need to take my girls along. They need the movement too.
