Accountability - Chapter 4

When I think of others on this journey with me I feel accountable.  When I have a moment of "giving in" I think of each of you and pray that you will be strengthed too.
So I can use those times as a double whammy in the face of the enemy.

My accountabilty comes with my husband.  We will weigh in on Saturday and record our weights on the calendar, it encourages us both when we see losses.  I want to see him successful in his weight loss so I try to have things ready for him for healthy lunches.  I am fortunate that he also likes to cook up some things ahead and he does cook some pretty good things.  His favorite is Pizza Soup, that recipe will be on the blog tomorrow.

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.  Be self-controlled and alert"
1 Peter 5:7-8
Be self-controlled and alert.
Know this,  we are to be self-controlled.  We have to exercise our wills here.  We can cast our cares on Him but He does hold us responsible for our part as well.
To be alert....know what's up ahead, around you and stalking you.  This is where some planning really pays off.  The adversary  is pursuing you.  But greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world ( and our refrigerators)

Check back this weekend for some healthy recipes and stay strong and purpose what you choose to partake in.

I was most struck by the story of Jacob and Esau. Lysa's right. Esau sacrificed a lot for just a moment of phsyical satisfaction. How often do we do that? We sacrifice our health for 5 minutes of wonderful in our mouths. I've sacrificed my weight, my energy, and general outlook to fast food, chocolate, and starchy foods.

I know accountability is powerful. When I knew that I was going to have to lay out my food log before a personal trainer, I was much more motivated to stay on track. I can't afford a trainer right now so I do need to prayerfully consider who that accountability partner might be. My husband may be a good one to do this with, but I might need to find a girlfriend or two to jump on board with me.

I praise God for he answered prayer. I got my fanny pack back with my identity intact the only thing that was missing was the cash. Now I am waiting for the rest of my prayer to be answered as I prayed for reconciliation and forgiveness in family relationships when I called the Revival prayer line Thursday night.
I have to admit I have already messed up and gave in to the potato chips after going one day without any. I wish I could quit compromising and giving in. I want to be victorious through the blood of God and my testimony but I keep messing it up. I have asked a friend to join this journey but not sure if she can til she goes to the Dr. to get a plan started. So I am just going to try to be accountable to God for He is the one that matters. I am keeping you two in my prayers and hope and pray you are succeeding. Patti I like the ending of your blog, very encouraging.
